Reduction of drug offers inside of Russia and cutting down of high drug demand inside of Russia, especially among youth, is a strategic direction of Federal Drug Control Service.
The strategy is based mainly on police and medical rehabilitation measures. Stable growth of the number of drugs in the country testifies to low effectiveness of the way.
Drug addicts themselves are the main drug suppliers. Strong demographic crisis will make authorities look at the far perspective of Russia and take strong actions. Russia is the only country without the law on compulsory medical treatment. They are not strict enough in the struggle for healthy, strong Russia.
The basic state efforts are to be redirected to risk groups, potential drug and alcohol consumers. Prevention must turn into basic. The work at the consequence of lack of preventive work with drug addicts is only the next stage of solution of the multiple-vector problem.
Cooperation with multiple social structure and real help to these organizations from state are necessary. Nowadays the country lacks system solution in struggle with drug and alcohol addiction assisted by civil society.
The country requires directed advertisement of positive life attitude as apposed to strict advertisement of human weaknesses. Athletes, Olympic champions can achieve more in this direction, influence youth, direct to healthy way of life.
