A lot of essential works by Soviet and foreign scientists are devoted to the problem of will, volitional activity and volitional behavior. Nevertheless many principal theoretical matters are still unsettled.
 
The urgency of the present research consists on the one hand in the existing necessity of revelation of the problems of personal development and on the other hand insufficiently precisely allocated mechanism of personal development, undeveloped approaches, principles, pedagogical technologies for construction of the pedagogical process.
 
The purpose of the present research was experimental allocation of the capacity of development of volitional activity of senior schoolchildren as an ability based on the view of the features of their nervous system and personality.
 
The work resulted in a number of conclusions:
 
Senior school age is most favourable in formation of volitional activity.
 
The integrated use of psychological, pedagogical and physical means within certain pedagogical conditions (positive attitude to requirements) facilitates formation of volitional activity of pupils as an ability.
