The purpose of the present research was scientific-methods substantiation of the model of focused development of physical qualities of junior sambo wrestlers on the stage of initial sports training.

Proceeding from the analysis of literature sources there were allocated three basic physical qualities, which sensitive periods are in the age interval of 8-9 years old for boys and are primary for sambo classes. These are quickness, flexibility, dexterity. Scientific research developments by V.V. Petrovsky and V.K. Balsevich served the methodological basics of the research. Focused development of quickness, flexibility, dexterity in junior sambo wrestlers in the educational-training process on the initial training stage promotes resultative indices of their physical preparedness testifying to advisability of inclusion of specialized short-term modules in the educational-training process of groups of initial sambo training, taking into account sensitive periods of these physical qualities. The researches resulted in a number of conclusions.

• On the stage of initial sambo training it is necessary to take into account sensitive periods of development of physical qualities and to use it to increase the level of physical preparedness of 8-9-year old boys.

• It is necessary to include short-term specialized modules on development of physical qualities in the educational-training process on combat wrestling on the initial training stage.
