Nowadays most of experts are concerned about physical health of schoolchildren, who avoid exercising before and after leaving school. A hard process of solution of socioeconomic issues is taking place in the society, provoking great physical and psychological overloads among teachers and children.

Nowadays a trend to deterioration of health among children and teenagers is observed, along with decrease of indices of physical development, growth of functional disorders of senior pupils, who are to enter the grown-up world and solve socially significant tasks.

The currency of the work consists in the fact that modern secondary schools are equipped with devices and other facilities for classes with weights. But, unfortunately, classes of athletic gymnastics are not provided in curricula. Herewith, the use of weights is capable of increasing physical and functional states of male teenagers.

The purpose of the present research was to improve power properties of 15-17-aged teenagers on the classes of athletic gymnastics.

Allocation of the rational ratio of means and methods of development of power properties, effective sequence of their distribution in every exercise set promote considerable acceleration of physical development of teenagers aged 15-17. As proved by the made control-pedagogical tests, exercise sets with weights are quite effective for all-round development of senior teenagers in view of their age features, in case of using various combinations of methods and regimes of muscle work. The technique of use of exercises with weights on the classes of athletic gymnastics facilitates increase of the level of physical fitness among 15-17-aged male teenagers, as proved by the results of tests in the control group.
