The population of Ulan Bator totaled to 1 240 037 people in 2010.

Materials and methods. 2500 1-11-formers of Ulan Bator took part in the mass pedagogical observation. The program of the examination included common tests approved in the Mongolian educational system to control state of physical health and physical development of children and teenagers. The level of physical fitness of children and teenagers aged 7-17 was defined using the method of control exercises. The test of Ulan Bator children was organized in collaboration with teachers and students of National institute of physical culture and teachers of physical culture of comprehensive schools. 2500 boys and girls without sports degrees, referred to the basic medical group, were subjected to examination.

Physical fitness of 7-17-aged schoolchildren living in Ulan Bator differs in age and sex. The complex effect of the test program on the physical status of children and teenagers is provided by the increase of physical exercises by means of wide introduction of extra-curricular forms of classes.
