The use of gymnastics exercises in physical training of 8-9-year-old hockey-players

The paper contains the studies of the matters of improvement of physical training of 8-9-year-old hockey-players. Proceeding from the analysis of literature sources, in this age much attention is to be paid to the quoted type of training. The paper contains the fitness research results of hockey-players of two teams of "Gazovik" and Rubin" in the period from September 2008 till May 2009. The "Gazovik" hockey-players who used gymanstics exercises in training have fitness indices higher than the ones from the "Rubin team. Thus the use of gymnastics exercises in physical training of hockey-players promotes a more effective training process.
The stage of initial training plays an essential role in laying the basis of motor skills and abilities of hockey-players. In this very period of long-term training of hockey-players physical training plays the basic role. The age of 8–9 is most favorable for all-round and harmonious development of all body parts and systems of child's body, development of such physical qualities as coordination, agility and flexibility.
The purpose of the research was to work and experimentally substantiate effectiveness of the program of physical training of 8-9-year-old hockey-players using gymnastics exercises. The subjected program was proved to have positive effect on their physical fitness.
Special fitness of hockey-players of the experimental group within the pedagogical experiment authentically improved (p<0,05) thanks to the application of the specially selected gymnastics exercises in view of the age features of the engaged ones and specifics of their game activity.
