It is to be mentioned that these foreign trips of A.D. Butovsky by the orders of Senior management and military department in the 90-s of the XIX century to a certain degree were caused by the similar tasks underdone 15 years ago.

In many aspects theoretical ideas of A.D. Butovsky, his views in different applied aspects of physical education substantially differed from some views and ideas of P.F. Lesgaft.

Personal theoretical and applied developments in the spheres of physical education and sport and the best from foreign experience in these spheres having got during the mentioned foreign business trips to different European countries was widely used by A.D. Butovsky in different ways in his work in Russia.

Solutions on conducting of the first Russian Olympic games in Kiev in 1913 (devoted to held All-Russian exhibition) and the second Russian Olympics in Riga in 1914 were among the measures appealed to facilitate development of sport in the country.

Whereas these and other large complex competitions were held without A.D. Butovsky's participation but it is undoubted that all the initiatives directed to creation and development of Olympic movement in Russia and the rise of Russian Olympic sport would be impossible without the foundation that had been laid by such pioneers of physical education and sport in the country as A.D. Butovsky.

In the Soviet Union A.D. Butovsky, his ideas, works and achievements have been forgotten almost completely for many years. However then finally came the era of regular recognition of his remarkable merits.
