The article considers the competitive radio location (RL) process design at every stage of the long-term training system in application to junior (10-19 year old) and adult (world class) competitors. Objective of the study was to explore technicalities of the classical distances and radio transmitters positioning versions, plus the technical and tactical performance aspects. For the study purposes we analyzed more than 300 competitive starts for the period of 2000 through 2017. We analyzed the 10-12 year-old competitors’ performance in the classical distances of the World, European and Russian championships. The study data made it possible to find the key competitive rates for every stage of years-long training system in radio location sport; and offer the key versions of the competitive performance on distances for every stage of years-long training system. It was found that the RL competitors’ location performance on distance largely depends on their technical, tactical and physical fitness, conditional on the radio transmitters operating in a cyclic regime.

Keywords: competitive radio location, long-term training, radio transmitter location process.
