Global sport science forum in anniversary days of the oldest Russian university

The article considers the outcomes of the XX International Research Congress “Olympic Sports and Sports for All” hosted by the National State Physical Culture, Sports and Health University named after P.F. Lesgaft, the Congress being timed to the 120th anniversary of the oldest physical education university in Russia and the world. Participating in the Congress were 706 people representing 48 universities of 21 nations. Leading researchers who came from all over the world made 11 reports at the plenary sessions of the Congress. The International Research and Practical Conference “Physical Education in Russia: History and Modern Progress” and Research Symposium “People’s Health and Sport Form Support Initiatives and Laboratory Tests” (sponsored by Abbott Company) were held within the frame of the Congress. The participants and foreign guests acknowledged success of the Congress that made a valuable contribution to the global sport science and world nations’ cooperation and friendship advancement process. The Congress accomplishments were summarized in a unanimously approved resolution that outlined the key progress avenues for the Russian and global sport science.
