Development of system of physical education and university sport in Siberian federal university: five-year results

Nowadays health saving of the country's population, inclusive of youth, has become a common national problem of Russia. Despite the common opinion that youth is the healthiest category of population, it is in the age of 15-17 when the highest sickness rates are observed. As follows by the data of Ministry of Health and social development, 60% of pupils have various diseases and only 14% of school-leavers are absolutely healthy.

 

The purpose of the present research was to make a comparative analysis of organization of physical education and state of university sport and elite sport in Siberian federal university.

 

The researchers are convinced that having got a strong impulse to development, Siberian federal university will remain one of the leaders in development of the system of physical education and university sport in Russia. Effective work on development of the discipline "Physical culture" is being realized in the university. Modern infrastructure for classes of physical culture and sport is being actively developed along with increase of effectiveness of sites and facilities.

 

The number of students regularly going in for physical culture and sport is growing, along with effective development of mass student sport and elite sport. The Concept and the Program of development of physical culture and sport for the period till 2020 have been worked and are being successfully implemented.
