Objective of the study was to assess the degree of influence of water-based body-oriented therapy on the psycho-emotional state of people with disabilities.
Methods and structure of the study. The experiment involved 19 people aged 5 to 18 years with various types of health deviations. An analysis of the organization of classes in the aquatic environment for people with disabilities was conducted. A new approach to assessing changes in the psychoemotional activity of people with disabilities was applied: determining the general psychoemotional state using psychodiagnostic methods, monitoring physiological indicators and the possibility of consciously managing them when using biofeedback procedures.
Results and conclusions. The conducted experiment confirmed that the methods and means used in water body-oriented therapy classes should be oriented not only to the growth of physical development indicators, but also to the formation of cognitive, motivational, regulatory, communicative and emotional components in the development of children with disabilities. The results of the study emphasize the importance of using the proposed method to assess the psycho-emotional state of children with disabilities, which made it possible to fully consider and evaluate the change in the emotional and motor activity of the child.
