Justification of applied anthropology of physical culture and sport as an integrative discipline of social and humanitarian knowledge

Objective of the study was to construction of a basis for argumentation confirming the scientific hypothesis about the integrative possibilities of using a complex (multi-level) structure of applied anthropological knowledge and comparative sociological methodology in the field of physical culture and sports sciences.
Results and conclusions. An analysis of the subject content of international and domestic sociological associations and journals over the past 70 years proves that the field of physical education and sports has not yet become an object of systematic applied anthropological research. Within the framework of this work, the main anthropological directions in the field of physical education and sports are identified, their heuristic and integrative potential is revealed, allowing to actualize the translation of social and humanitarian knowledge in the field of physical education and sports on the rails of modern anthropological science.
