Objective of the study was to development of a methodology for determining and assessing the special performance of young football players.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work involved 72 young football players, who are representatives of the youth national teams of Russia, aged 15 to 17 years. The following methods were used in the study: motor testing, pulse ometry, determination of the intensity of accumulation of pulse debt, methods of mathematical statistics.
Results and conclusions. A methodology has been developed, an important element of which is the implementation of four motor tests performed on a football field. These include the following tests: 30 m straight run; 30 m run with running around the posts with and without a ball; shuttle, intermittent, submaximal test. To assess the level of special performance of football players, the value of the intensity of accumulation of pulse debt (INPD) was used. In the course of the study, standards for assessing the special performance of young football players were developed.
The developed methodology for determining and assessing the special performance of young football players can be effectively used in the activities of a coach, sports physiologists and doctors to objectify the process of functional control and planning of sports training.

Keywords: special performance, motor tests, determination methods, assessment, standards, young football players.
