The purpose of the study is to test and evaluate the indicators of special preparedness of highly qualified young football players in preparation for short–term tournaments.
Methodology and organization of the study. The scientific work was carried out during 2019-2023, which was attended by highly qualified football players of the Russian youth national team (U-21). During the specified time, special training was monitored using test tasks that allow assessing the indicators of physical, motor and technical readiness. The dynamics of the results during the four years of work with the Russian youth football team allowed us to determine the effectiveness of the organization of the training process in preparation for short-term tournaments.
The results of the study and their discussion. The use of high-intensity training makes it possible to achieve significant progress in terms of athletic fitness of highly qualified young football players in a short period of time. Testing showed that over the four years of working with the Russian national team, the main team of players has seen a significant improvement in the development of high-speed, speed-strength and coordination abilities by 17.4, 22.6 and 14.8%, respectively, and high-speed endurance by 25.9%. The players increased the distance they cover during the match by 27.1%, and the results of running at maximum speed increased by 18.4%. In the process of testing technical readiness, it was found that during the surveys conducted, the accuracy of passes and shots on goal significantly increased by 17.2 and 20.1%, respectively, as well as by 16.5% the number of interceptions of the ball performed in the control exercise "Square".
Conclusion. Testing of the special preparedness of young football players of the Russian national team for a long time showed positive dynamics of physical, motor and technical readiness of the players, which indicates the effectiveness of high-intensity training used in preparation for short-term tournaments.
