Objective of the study was to examination of the role of graduates of the State Central Institute of Physical Culture in the development of the physical culture and sports industry in Crimea in the late 1920s – early 1930s.
Methods and structure of the study. Based on the analysis of archival documents, which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the contribution of workers who graduated from the State Central Institute of Physical Culture and who made up the majority of the staffing of the physical culture industry in Crimea during the period under study was studied.
Results and conclusions. An analysis of the composition of Crimean physical education workers with higher education for the period from 1927 to 1933 showed that 59% of them (13 out of 22 people) were graduates of the State Central Institute of Physical Culture. These were young people (born between 1904 and 1909), athletes with practical experience in the industry, members of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, active and ideologically prepared, who received solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills in professional work in physical culture and sports. The results obtained indicate their significant contribution to the formation and development of physical culture and sports in leadership positions in the Councils of Physical Culture and Universities of Crimea, the Crimean College of Physical Culture, and the largest enterprises of the peninsula.
