Introduction. The most important aspect of the process of restoring the health and functional activity of participants in a special military operation (SVO) is adaptive physical culture, the main role of which is to create individualized rehabilitation programs that take into account the physical condition, injuries, and peculiarities of the psycho-emotional background of each. Specialists are faced with the task of selecting and adapting sports equipment that can become an important element in a comprehensive rehabilitation system aimed at full recovery and integration into the society of military veterans. In conditions where traditional support methods may not be enough, intellectual sports (billiards, chess, checkers, go, strategic computer games) are of exceptional interest, which not only develop cognitive abilities and motor skills, but also contribute to the social integration of persons with disabilities [1].
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the potential of billiards in the physical and social rehabilitation of ITS participants.
The results of the study and their results. To determine what role this ancient game can play in the rehabilitation process, a sociological survey was conducted in the form of an expert interview among 16 specialists in the field of billiard sports (coaches, representatives of the Billiard Federation of the Russian Federation). According to the respondents, successful physical education billiards events with the participation of combat veterans are already being organized in Russia, the results of which confirm our hypothesis about the expediency of using this game.
Analyzing the collected data, it becomes obvious that billiards occupies a special place among therapeutic practices due to a number of unique characteristics. Firstly, billiards helps to develop coordination, which improves through constant practice, and this is extremely important for people whose physical skills could be affected by combat. Secondly, the psychological aspect of the game also plays an important role: according to surveys, billiards helps to improve concentration and reduce stress levels. During the game, participants focus on individual strikes and strategies, which allows them to temporarily distract themselves from their experiences and focus on the current moment. The third important aspect identified by experts is the social component of the game. Billiard clubs and halls are becoming informal meeting places and socializing places for veterans, which helps strengthen social ties and support. It was especially noted that formal tournaments and friendly competitions create a sense of community, contribute to the creation of a safe environment where players can focus on strategic thinking and distract themselves from the stressful situations they face.
Conclusion. Thus, the results of the survey revealed that billiards can become an effective part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program for participants of the SVO, combining physical, psychological and social elements of recovery. The recognition of such non-traditional methods creates prerequisites for further research in this field and the large-scale introduction of billiard sports into the practice of Russian regions.
