Objective of the study was to develop and substantiate regulatory requirements for mandatory and control tests to assess the professional and applied preparedness of students at the agricultural and technical university.
Methods and structure of the study. The research work was carried out during the full cycle (4 years) of bachelor's degree training in the period from September 2021 to May 2024 at the Don State Agrarian University (DSAU) and the Don State Technical University (DSTU) (Rostov-on-Don). The study involved 678 young men and women of the Agrarian and Technical University who mastered the program material on the discipline "Physical Education" during their studies at the university. The theoretical and practical justification of control tests for assessing the professional and applied readiness of students in the areas under consideration was carried out through the analysis of special scientific and methodological literature and sociological research.
Results and conclusions. In order to effectively assess the professional and applied preparedness of students of agricultural and technical universities, it is necessary to include in physical education classes mandatory and control test exercises that allow assessing the level of development of such physical qualities as speed, strength and endurance, as well as mastery of basic motor skills that may be useful to a graduate in his work activities.
