Updating the professional training of physical education specialists (using the example of the 49.03.01 «Physical Education» program, «Physical Education» profile)

Objective of the study was to scientific substantiation of the correction of the basic educational program of higher education in the field of study 49.03.01 «Physical Education», profile «Physical Education».
Methods and structure of the study. A comprehensive study was conducted aimed at scientific substantiation of the correction of the basic educational program of higher education, in the direction of training 49.03.01 «Physical Education», profile «Physical Education».
Results and conclusions. A pedagogical experiment conducted at the Voronezh State Academy of Sports (hereinafter referred to as VSAS) demonstrated the feasibility of updating the Basic Educational Program of Higher Education within the framework of the following components: list of professional standards; set of generalized labor functions and labor functions; competencies being formed; main characteristics of the curriculum; list of curriculum disciplines; labor intensity and schedule for completing curriculum disciplines; organizational and methodological support and substantive content of the educational process. The results of interdisciplinary control tests of the preparedness of students studying under different program options revealed a significantly higher theoretical, methodological, and practical preparedness of future graduates.
