The purpose of the study is to study the qualitative characteristics of attacking game actions of qualified volleyball players in competitive activities.
Methodology and organization of the study. Pedagogical observations of the competitive activities of the men's volleyball teams of the Higher League "A" of the Russian Championship were carried out during the 2023/2024 game season. A total of 48 games involving men's teams were analyzed. The results obtained made it possible to identify current trends in the playing activities of qualified volleyball teams and, on this basis, outline ways to further improve them in order to achieve the maximum final result in the Russian championship of the highest league "A".
The results of the study and their discussion. The competitive actions of the players in the attack allowed us to establish that the completion of the offensive strike is carried out from zones No. 4, No. 3, No. 2, as well as from the depth of the court (from the back line). As a result of pedagogical observation, it was found that diagonal players have the highest average number of goals won per match – 24.2± 2.1 points. It was found that the finishers of the teams of the Higher League "A" of the Russian championship win an average of 17.4± 1.4 points per match, and the blockers – 8.7± 0.6 points.
When analyzing the effectiveness of the attacking actions of diagonal, blocking and finishing players from different zones, we found that the most effective players in attack are those who perform the functions of finishing players in zone No. 4 and from the depth of the site – 53 and 47%, respectively. It is characteristic that blocking players have the highest attack efficiency from zone No. 3 – 40%, but at the same time the indicators are lower than those of the pre-players (p<0.05).
Diagonal players have the highest attack efficiency when hitting from zone No. 2 – 39%, but it is also lower than that of the pre-players. An interesting fact is that diagonal players often have to carry out an attack from the depth of the court in difficult game episodes. Studies have shown that with such attacks, diagonal players have low performance indicators – 28%.
Conclusions. An analysis of the attacking game actions of the players of the volleyball teams of the Major League "A" in the 2023/2024 game season showed that the main burden falls on the diagonal, finishing players and blockers. The high effectiveness of the attacking actions of the players indicates that qualified players of this role surpass diagonal and blocking players in terms of technical and tactical readiness. The study of competitive activity indicates that increasing the effectiveness of attacking actions in diagonal players contributes to achieving high athletic results in the match, because in the game, athletes of this role perform the largest number of attacking strikes.
