Introduction. Modern sport is becoming more and more multifaceted, and in this regard, the need to identify the relationship between the indicators of various areas of sports development is becoming urgent. It is logical to conduct a detailed analysis of the most medal-intensive Olympic and Paralympic sports. Therefore, the choice of the sport of swimming as an object of analysis is quite obvious, since swimming is second only to athletics in terms of the number of awarded sets in the Olympic Games program. Swimming also ranks second in the group of sports disciplines in adaptive sports in terms of the number of sports disciplines [1].
The aim of the study is to establish the relationship between the unofficial team competition in swimming competitions at the Olympic Games and the Summer Paralympic Games with the results of a comprehensive competition.
Methodology and organization of the study. For the analysis, the results of the unofficial team standings at the 2020 Olympic Games (IO) and the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games (LPI) were taken, which were processed using ranking and correlation analysis methods.
The results of the study and their discussion. To determine the leading countries, a comprehensive score was summed up based on the results of an informal team competition at the IO and LPI. Based on the results of the analysis of the unofficial team standings at swimming competitions, the top five countries of the complex standings were determined (see the table).
These tables indicate the leadership of the United States in the overall standings, although not as confident as in the unofficial team standings at IO, which is due only to the third place of the United States at the LPI. Commands from Russia, who competed as teams of the Russian Olympic Committee and The Russian Paralympic Committee, taking 5th place at the IO and 2nd place at the LPI, took 3rd place in the overall standings. The results of the correlation analysis revealed a very strong relationship between the results of the complex score and the unofficial team score at the LPI (r=0.92) and a strong relationship between the results of the complex score and the unofficial team score at the IO (r=0.74).
Conclusions. Thus, it was found that the results of the informal team competition at the LPI are more interrelated with the results of the complex competition than the results of the informal team competition at the IO.
