The purpose of the study is to reveal the algorithm of designing and implementing a competence-oriented task in the development of sociological knowledge in the field of physical culture and sports.
The results of the study and conclusions. The concept of a "competence-oriented task" is formulated and the structure is defined, including a description of the problem situation, goal setting, the main stages of designing and implementing the task, presentation and interpretation of the results. It is shown that the implementation of the GOAT provides high efficiency of the organization of independent educational, cognitive, research, project work of the student, which models the professional activity of a future specialist in the field of physical culture and sports.
