Objective of the study was to identify the main problems of training a sports reserve and to justify a strategy for improving additional educational programs in team sports in the modern realities of the development of domestic sports.
Results and conclusions. Fundamental geopolitical changes that have affected domestic sports have necessitated a revision of the entire system of training sports reserves in our country. The developed and approved Federal State Standards and additional educational programs for sports training require significant revision and addition, taking into account the modern realities of the development of team sports in our country, which for the most part do not keep pace with the development of the sport. The key objective of additional educational programs for sports training in team sports is to move away from the principles of training teams of various age groups within sports schools and reorient specialists towards a specific player. The approach presented in the article defines a long-term strategy for the development of team sports, which will contribute to the successful solution of the problems of effective training of sports reserves in the modern conditions of sanctions limiting the participation of domestic players in international competitions.
