Objective of the study was to substantiate the use of the regression method “decision trees” for the analysis of morphological indicators in the rapid assessment of risk factors for increased pulse pressure in young men.
Methods and structure of the study. Individual morphofunctional data (16 indicators) were used for 300 young men aged 17-25 years who are not involved in professional sports. As a hierarchical method, a decision tree algorithm was used, implemented through regression: the dependent variable is pulse pressure, the predictors are morphological indicators. The use of predictive analytics methods allows you to explore the hierarchy of features, study the relationship of various types of data with each other, and classify the data.
Results and conclusions. A clear tendency to increase pulse pressure values in broad-built young men with high levels of skeletal massiveness and skeletal muscle mass was established. The hierarchical “decision tree” method allows, based on morphological indicators, to carry out an objective individual rapid assessment of risk factors for increased pulse pressure, which can be taken into account when monitoring the physical condition of young people involved in sports.
