Introduction. A specific feature of volleyball is the duration of mastering techniques, which are characterized by high coordination complexity of execution. This circumstance orients volleyball coaches to organize early specialization in order to increase the time to master the technique of the game. However, elementary school students often have difficulties in mastering the techniques of the game due to an insufficient level of preparedness [1].
This circumstance determines the use of outdoor games and game exercises as the most rational way to form special playing skills. In game conditions, students demonstrate a higher activity index, it is easier to master movements [2].
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the effectiveness of the use of outdoor games as a means of mastering the basic technique of volleyball players in the initial training groups of the first year of study.
Methodology and organization of the study. This work was carried out on the basis of MBU to Secondary School No. 1 of the Kolomna city district of the Moscow region. A volleyball program has been compiled for the initial training groups of the first year of study, which is designed for 234 hours per year (6 hours per week). In the compiled program, the first year of training sessions is aimed primarily at teaching the elements of the volleyball technique, the arsenal of which consists of the player's stands and movements, the basic elements of receiving and passing the ball, and serving the ball. The entire annual cycle of training for young volleyball players was carried out in the period from January 2022 to January 2023 and was represented by preparatory, competitive and transitional periods.
The results of the study and their discussion. The use of outdoor games in the training process of young volleyball players has a positive effect on the dynamics of the fitness of those involved.
Thus, in terms of general physical fitness, volleyball players are ahead of their peers in the control group by an average of 3.5% with a significant difference in results. The same pattern is observed in indicators of special physical fitness, where the volleyball players of the experimental group showed an average annual increase in results by 22.8%, and the control group – by 13.3%.
When performing exercises characterizing the level of mastering the basic volleyball technique, the young athletes of the experimental group showed an above-average score; in the control group, this indicator is average.
Conclusion. The analysis of the results confirms the effectiveness of the work carried out and the practical significance of the use of outdoor games and game exercises for the development of basic volleyball techniques by athletes of the initial training groups of the first year of study using differentiated outdoor games.
