The demand for the organization of sports orientation for children on the basis of a preschool educational institution

Introduction. Recently, the issues of sports orientation of children are becoming more and more discussed, which is largely due to the trend of a decrease in the number of pupils attending sports sections. In this situation, the role of the organization of sports orientation of children in educational institutions increases, which will allow already at the stage of preschool childhood to choose a sport that meets the interests and needs of the child, his individual mental and physical characteristics [1].
The purpose of the study is to actualize the organization of sports orientation of children on the basis of a preschool educational institution.
Methodology and organization of the study. To achieve this goal, the questionnaire method was used, which was implemented in an online format on the Google forms platform based on the GBDOU kindergarten No. 93 of the Krasnoselsky district (St. Petersburg). A total of 132 respondents took part in the survey, of which 90.9% were women and 9.1% were men. The majority of parents (legal representatives) corresponded to the age range – 30-39 years (65.2%), then – 20-29 years (19.7%), 40-49 years (14.4%) and 50-59 years (0.8%).
The results of the study and their discussion. At the time of the survey, 61.4% of children (3-7 years old) attended sports clubs. Regarding the most preferred sports, it can be noted that 30.9% are engaged in gymnastics, 17.3% are involved in the training process in swimming and various types of martial arts, 14.8% attend football classes. Basketball, dancing, figure skating, etc. are less popular. To the question: "Do you plan for the child to continue studying in the sports section that he currently attends after leaving kindergarten?" the majority of 37.1% of respondents answered that they would like the child to continue studying in the chosen sports section, 22% indicated that it depends on the desire of the preschooler and 15.9% parents do not plan to continue classes.
Despite the fact that at the moment 61.4% of pupils are engaged in sports sections, answering the question "Would you be interested in getting recommendations on the choice of sports for your child?", 78.1% of parents of preschoolers answered in the affirmative, also 92.4% of respondents would like to receive information about the possibilities of organizing sports classes for a child in the area of residence.
Conclusion. The results of the survey of parents confirmed the demand for sports orientation of pupils in the conditions of a preschool educational organization. As part of the implementation of this area of work, it is planned to: organize seminars and consultations for parents on the early start of sports; on the choice of a sport for a child in accordance with his physical, mental and morphofunctional characteristics; organize leisure activities for parents with children, sports holidays, physical culture and sports events, sports competitions; invitation to kindergarten coaches of sports schools in sports to conduct master classes for pupils, seminars for parents.
