Changes in the immune status of skiers with a change in climatic and geographical conditions of living and training

Objective of the study was to evaluate changes in the immunity parameters of skiers with a change in climatic and geographical conditions of living and training.
Methods and structure of the study. The subjects - 49 young people aged 19-21 years old, were divided into two groups. The main group (n=22) consisted of young men involved in skiing, sports experience of 6-7 years. The comparison group (n=27) - young people who do not regularly go in for sports. Within the groups, the subjects were divided into subgroups: subgroup 1 - young people born and living in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra; subgroup 2 - young people born in the regions of central Russia and the south of Russia and living in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug for 4-5 years; subgroup 3 - young people born in the regions of central Russia and the south of Russia, living in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug for 1-2 years. All subjects underwent an assessment of cellular and humoral immunity.
Results and conclusions. Statistically significant differences in the leukocyte formula in young men of the main group of subgroups 1 and 2, compared with their peers, not involved in sports were not observed. The percentage of neutrophils and monocytes in the subjects of the main group of subgroup 3 was significantly higher, and the level of lymphocytes and eosinophils was lower than the values of the comparison group (subgroup 3). In young men of subgroup 1 of the main group, the level of T-lymphocytes, T-helpers and B-lymphocytes was reduced in comparison with peers not involved in sports. The level of B-lymphocytes was also reduced relative to peers in athletes of subgroup 2 of the main group. The content of IgA and IgG in athletes of the main group of subgroup 2 was significantly lower than the values of people who do not regularly go in for sports.
A change in the region of residence in young people involved in skiing leads to a more pronounced immunosuppression relative to their peers who have changed the region of residence, but not involved in sports. 1-2 years after the change of the region of residence, such changes consisted in the redistribution of the population of leukocyte cells, after 4-5 years, violations of the humoral link developed.
