Contribution of G.V. Shura – teacher, coach, athlete –- in the formation and development of orienteering in the Arkhangelsk region

Objective of the study was to reveal the personal contribution of G.V. Shura in the formation and development of orienteering in the Arkhangelsk region.
Methods and structure of the study. The work carried out a content analysis and generalization of methodological literature, which was carried out in the period from 1980 to 2022. It accumulated the existing knowledge accumulated at a particular moment about G.V. Shura.
Results and conclusions. Heinrich Vasilyevich Shur has prepared a large galaxy of athletes, coaches, teachers who are still working in the field of physical culture and orienteering, in particular. "Modern sport requires the timely disclosure of the sports talent of a young athlete." The further success of the athlete's performances is largely due to the professional knowledge and skills of the coach. But, I would like to believe that the work begun by Genrikh Vasilyevich will remain a bright milestone in sports Arkhangelsk and new orders will form new sports leaders who will lead to new victories.
