Introduction. Sports competitions are not only a space for recording physical and social achievements of athletes, but also a place where illegal interactions between different participants in this process (organizers, coaches, sponsors, athletes themselves) can be realized. In this regard, the question arises about the formation of an anti-corruption culture [1, 2].
The purpose of the study is to identify the level of anti–corruption culture among athletes.
Methodology and organization of the study. 650 athletes, 65 coaches, 65 sponsors, 65 organizers of competitions took part in the study conducted in 2022). Of these, 62% are men and 38% are women aged 34 to 65 years, holding their position or status, or participating in competitions for more than 10 years. The research method was a questionnaire survey. The data was processed using the SPSS package.
The results of the study and their discussion. According to respondents, the motives for participating in the process of giving and receiving a bribe are the following: the desire to be in the ranking of the best (27%), to get the desired status, title, extend the contract (33%), to show their worth as a specialist (40%), etc. In order for the processes of anti-corruption motivation of behavior to work, it is necessary to understand what motivates those who enter these formats of interaction.
To date, the lack of knowledge in this block leads to an undeveloped anti-corruption culture among the sports community, which requires additional measures for education and competence development.
Conclusions. To change this situation, it is necessary to strengthen the moral and ethical context of social realization, as well as to raise the level of awareness of the sports community about the work of laws and legal norms on corruption and mechanisms for prevention and anti-corruption activities.
