Introduction. An increase in muscle activity as a result of sports at any age strengthens the body and inhibits the development of any dysfunctions [1]. The achieved effect is associated with the possibility of stimulation of the musculoskeletal system and the cardiovascular system. Boxing is considered a very attractive option for young people for physical training, many aspects of the influence of which on the somatic status still need to be clarified.
The purpose of the study is to identify changes in the general physical status of young men who started boxing.
Methodology and organization of the study. The examination was performed on 35 completely healthy young men (17-21 years old). They were divided into two comparable groups. The first group became the study group (17 young men). She started training in the boxing section three times a week for at least 90 minutes, continuing to attend university physical education classes. The control group (18 people) included young people who retained initially low physical activity. The results of traditional functional tests were recorded in all the examined patients, which allowed to find out the general level of their physical capabilities. Statistical processing of the results obtained in the work was carried out during the calculation of the Student's criterion value (t).
The results of the study, their discussion and conclusions. At the first examination, individuals of both groups had a reduced level of physical development. After six months of training in the boxing section, the speed and strength parameters of the young men who made up the study group increased: the running time for a distance of 60 m decreased by 32.1%, the running time for a distance of 30 m decreased by 27.3%, the long jump lengthened by 42.1%, the number of trunk lifts increased by 57.9% from a lying position for one minute, the number of possible pull-ups increased by 63.1%. This was accompanied by an increase in coordination abilities – the number of jumps performed with a rope increased by 82.5%, the time of participation in the shuttle run decreased by 32.8%; their endurance increased – the distance run in 6 minutes became 31.7% more. It was not possible to find changes in the registered indicators in the persons of the control group.
Conclusion. As a result of six months of boxing, the boys' physical abilities have increased, the available reserves of the body have increased, the clarity of the movements performed has increased and the coordination of the movements performed has improved.
