Objective of the study was to summarize and substantiate the organizational and methodological support for the training of student sports teams in team sports.
Methods and structure of the study. The work was carried out in 2021-2022 on the basis of the universities of the Southern Federal (Rostov-on-Don) and North Caucasian (Vladikavkaz) districts. The study involved 978 full-time 1-4 year students. At the first stage (February-June 2021), students were surveyed, and at the second stage (September 2021 – March 2022), organizational and methodological approaches were developed to ensure effective training of student sports teams in team sports.
Results and conclusions. The organization of the process of preparing student teams for many reasons does not meet modern requirements: often there is excessive administration of it, the emphasis is on the implementation of the normative and basic part of the curriculum without taking into account the motives and needs of students, the material and technical capabilities of the university are not taken into account. Effective improvement of the training process of student teams in team sports requires not only the use of various approaches to conducting classes, but also the optimization of the organizational and methodological support of this issue, which must be substantiated and practically justified in the modern conditions of the development of the university, plays an important role.
