Sport infrastructure development to increase people’s physical activity in China

Abstract
Objective of the study was to analyze benefits of a sport infrastructure development project at the Universiade Host Center stadium in Shenzhen.
Methods and structure of the study. We analyzed design and progress of the sport infrastructure development project for the Universiade Host Center stadium in Longgang (in northeastern part of Shenzhen) nominated the key stadium for the XXVI World Summer Student Games.
Results and conclusion. We analyzed the progress and drawbacks in the stadium infrastructure development project using a SWOT analysis to rate the Universiade Host Center operation and management service. The analysis showed that the sport facility may be effectively operated after the Universiade conditional on the demand-sensitive sports services with due cultural and tourist attractions and modern leisure zone designed on modern sports/ fitness/ business/ leisure-time service concepts and priorities, with good attractions, entertainments and cultural, socializing, tourist and catering service elements. We found the Universiade Host Center development project being beneficial due to its management quality improvement → business-and-sports synergizing → business efficiency advancement → and popular sports encouragement priorities.
