Objective of the study was to theoretically substantiate and experimentally test benefits of the sport-specific English language basics learning model for junior football players.
Methods and structure of the study. We used a few theoretical study methods with analysis of the reference study reports, plus a training experiment with progress tests, questionnaire survey, training progress controls, and standard mathematical statistics toolkit for the data flow processing. The sport-specific English basics training experiment was run at the Youth Football Academy in Ulyanovsk with a special priority to the progress-facilitating teamwork methods.
Results and conclusion. The sport-specific English basics training experiment showed the model being beneficial as complementary to the traditional team training and sport-specific English basics learning methods used by the coaches in football schools and academies, as it effectively facilitates the bilingual communication progress. The sport-specific English basics training methods and tools may be recommended as beneficial and customizable to virtually every team sport discipline.
