Objective of the study was to identify the peculiarities of tourist sector personnel training on the basis of Tchaikovsky State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports taking into account the available sports infrastructure.
Methods and structure of the study. The study involved an analysis of the curriculum and work programs at Tchaikovsky State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports under the Bachelor’s degree course 49.03.03 "Recreation and Sports and Health Tourism". We also studied the level of interest in professional activities of the intramural and extramural (1st-2nd years of study) students majoring in Recreation and Sports and Health Tourism discipline (49.03.03), specialty "Recreation and Tourism Management" (n=46).
Results and conclusions. The analysis of the sports infrastructure at Tchaikovsky State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports showed that the university has a considerable material and technical base, which allows training personnel both for the physical education and sports sector and tourism and recreation sector. The results of the evaluation of the students’ interest in their future professional activity suggest that this interest develops while they master the discipline.
