Recreational preferences among physical culture institute students as youth tourism growth driver

Objective of the study was to apply sociological survey tools to determine the recreational preferences among physical culture institute students as a youth tourism growth factor.
Methods and structure of the study. The research methodology was based on the application of the methodological principles (unity of theory and practice, objectivity, complexity, reliability), a scientifically substantiated data collection technique, its interpretation based on the methods of analysis, grouping, comparison, mathematical statistics. The main empirical method was an online survey. The sample size was 800 students of the Kuban State University of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism aged 18-30 years.
Results and conclusions. The study revealed a relatively homogeneous segment of recreational service consumers, who prefer activity and adventure holidays that meet their age and educational needs associated with the high level of motor activity; who are a less demanding category of consumers, guided by such criteria as cost, top destinations, group recreational activities; the consumer segment of students is characterized by low purchasing power, low requirements to the level of comfort, desire to plan leisure activities all by themselves.
The obtained data on the recreational preferences among physical culture institute students should be used as a basis for the development of effective recovery programs for athletes engaged in intense physical activity, as well as a strategy for the development of youth tourism as a segment of tourism and recreation activities in the region.
