Organization of inclusive sports competitions in university environment

Objective of the study was to develop and test the new forms of organization and running of competitions among healthy students and students with health limitations.
Methods and structure of the study. The first inclusive competitions among students were held under the program of development of the student associations of the Federal State-Funded Educational Institution of Higher Education "Russian State Social University" on the basis of "Ruza" sanatorium for Russian State Social University students and teaching staff. In the process of preparing for the inclusive competitions, we worked out a provision, which included the purpose and objectives of the competition, basic regulations and rules. The participants were the 1st-4th-year students of Russian State Social University majoring in different disciplines (88 students, including 35 individuals with health limitations).
Study results. The questionnaire survey of the students participating in the inclusive games revealed the degree of their satisfaction with the organization and running of the competitions. The following was found: the degree of the students’ satisfaction with the organization and running of the competitions; their desire to participate in the inclusive games in the future (if repeated); shortcomings in the organization and running of the inclusive competitions.
The analysis of the survey data showed that the participants of the inclusive competitions would overwhelmingly like to participate in the inclusive competitions once again. For the students with health limitations, the average score was higher than that for the healthy students.
All the participants were "absolutely satisfied" and "satisfied" with the organization of the inclusive competitions. The students with health limitations had a lower level of satisfaction than those without disabilities.
