Objective of the study was to substantiate and test benefits of a competitive freestyle wrestling prioritizing Sporting Physical Education model for the schoolchildren of junior teen age.
Results and conclusions. The new competitive freestyle wrestling prioritizing Sporting Physical Education model was tested at Secondary School #145 in Perm city. We tested benefits of the model for the trainees’ progress in the physicality, willpower and technical and tactical skills. The progress was tested by examinations in the freestyle wrestling techniques and tactics theory and practical freestyle wrestling skills test exercises and throws-free elementary training bouts with special limitations. We found the new freestyle wrestling prioritizing Sporting Physical Education model beneficial for the age group conditional on adapted inclusive competitive formats being prudently applied with a special attention to the injury prevention aspects.
