Combined application of physical and technical training means during basic mesocycle in professional swimming

Objective of the study was to determine the possibilities of combined application of the means of physical and technical training of highly-skilled swimmers providing for the biomechanics of movements.
Methods and structure of the study. The study involved 26 highly-skilled athletes having sports qualifications Candidate Master of Sports, Master of Sports, and Master of Sports of International level, who were split into two groups – Control and Experimental Groups, 13 people each. The following methods were applied during the study: computer video analysis, dynamometry, educational experiment, mathematical statistics methods. The Experimental Group athletes were trained using the combined effect of the exercises on their physical and technical fitness. The Control Group subjects were trained according to the common method.
Results and conclusions. A close correlation was found between the load parameters on dry land and in the water. During the educational experiment, there were detected statistically significant changes in the Experimental Group and insignificant dynamics in the Control Group. Improvements in the physical and technical fitness rates were accompanied by an increase in the swimming speed. Therefore, the combined application of specially selected means of physical and technical training means of physical and technical training of highly-skilled swimmers providing for the biomechanics of movements had a greater effect than the traditional approach.
