Project-based approach to management of development of academic educational and physical and sports environment

Objective of the study was to identify the ways to improve the process of management of development of educational and physical and sports environment at the university using a project-based approach.
Methods and structure of the study. The study was based on the results of the pilot project "Improvement of university physical education process through the selected sports and health activities". We considered the results of the sociological study "Involvement of student youth in physical education classes", conducted by the teaching staff of the Physical Education Department of Belgorod State National Research University using a questionnaire survey. A total of 1,000 students of the 1st and 2nd years of study were examined.
Results of the study and conclusions. The use of project management technology in the development of the educational and physical and sports environment at the university improves its efficiency. The pilot project proved the necessity of changes in the educational and physical and sports environment at Belgorod State National Research University, which were as follows: to expand the contents of sports disciplines available to the student youth; include the elective physical education and sports disciplines in the unified class schedule; open the therapeutic physical training room for the disabled in the polyclinic of Belgorod State National Research University; conduct advanced training courses on therapeutic physical education for the physical education teachers; allot more hours for the elective subjects; develop the teaching aids aimed to motivate the university students for physical education and sports activities; regularly monitor the level of students' satisfaction with the basic physical education and elective disciplines.
