Outdoor games to form labor actions and skills of trainers

Objective of the study was to substantiate the relevance of study of the "Outdoor Games" academic discipline and its role in the formation of professional knowledge and skills being part of the "Trainer" professional standard.
Methods and structure of the study. During the study, we analyzed the labor functions and actions included in the "Trainer" professional standard. We conducted a questionnaire survey among 30 3rd-year students of Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth, and Tourism majoring in Physical Education and Sports. The questionnaire survey form offered questions about the respondents' attitude to the discipline "Outdoor Games" and the application of the knowledge and skills received both during its mastering and during practical activity.
Study results and conclusions. The survey results showed that the respondents mastered the "Outdoor Games" discipline in the 1st year of study. 96% of respondents practice the profession they trained for and consider this discipline to be necessary for trainer's work, and 84% implement outdoor games in training classes with children and adults.
The results of the theoretical analysis of the "Trainer" professional standard and the questionnaire survey showed that the skills of conducting outdoor games are an important element in the formation of professional knowledge and skills of the coach.
