Prognostic thinking developing education tasks in academic physical education

Prognostic tasks is the tool to develop thinking and forecasting abilities, address difficult and even extreme situations, make responsible decisions under time pressure and in uncertain conditions due to the shortage or excess of the vital information. Modern athletic performance requires an excellent decision-making capacity driven by good intuition for success; and this is the reason why special attention is given to the prognostic thinking qualities building to support the personality development and professional career. An individual prognostic ability is ratable by a variety of prognostic tasks using non-static factorial analysis; and a group prognostic ability may be assessed using the relevant statistic tools like the Mann-Whitney test. The test data and analyses demonstrate the prognostic ability of university students being gender- and age-specific, with the 5-year students doing better in the tests than the 2-year ones. The prognostic thinking ability building course was found beneficial for the students majoring in Physical Education and Life Safety since it was found to facilitate their progress in the academic studies and professional careers, response to challenges and situational adaptability.
