Current status and problems of snowboarding for persons with hearing impairment in context of domestic and international deaf sports

The problems of development of snowboarding for athletes with hearing impairments in Russia and abroad were analyzed in the paper.
There were provided the findings of the research of athletes from 8 countries (USA, Canada, Japan, Italy, Norway, Czech Republic, Finland, Switzerland) - participants XVIII Surdolympic Winter Games 2015 (Khanty-Mansiysk, Magnitogorsk) and 9 regions of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Leningrad Region, Republic of Udmurtia, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, Krasnodar Territory), where Children’s and Youth sports schools with snowboarding departments for the deaf and hearing impaired athletes are located. The results of the mathematical and statistical processing of the data of relevance and importance of the problems in the development of domestic and world snowboarding for persons with hearing impairments, the most important of them named are "snowboarding - economically expensive sport (equipment, organization of training camps)", "high risk of injury", "lack of teaching materials on training of snowboarders", "lack of special technology of training of athletes with hearing impairments in snowboarding with regard to their individual pathology of disease," "insufficient number of national and inetrnational snowboarding competitions for the deaf". There were marked differences in the definition of the significance of some of the problems by members of the national teams of countries - participants of the Deaflympics and the national deaf team of Russia. Ways of solving the most important problems in Russian snowboarding were determined. There were stipulated the perspectives of development of snowboarding for persons with hearing impairment in the most promising regions of Russia, where the sport is developed mainly using an integrative approach to the organization of classes with persons with hearing impairment and athletes without restrictions in health.
