Problems of human physical perfection have caused concern for many generations. The authors consider development of coordination abilities (CA) of primary schoolchildren as the main component of physical perfection, especially in Yakutia. CA are an important condition ensuring security in different dangerous situations, nature is of special importance in the "man - environment" system (slippery roads, fog, etc.). According to V.I. Lyakh, human CA should be started developing as early as in the preschool and early school years. The older the children are, the longer the process of learning CA is.
Meanwhile, as marked in the modern science, in the primary school age children experience rapid growth, active changes of the body forms and functions, psychomotor system, sensitive periods for development of physical abilities, where CA take a special place.
The purpose of the study was to identify the most effective means of developing CA among children of primary school age in the physical training lessons with gymnastic orientation.
Primary school age is the best to form practically all physical qualities and CA of children, being applied during physical activity. The level of children’s physical development and development of their CA are not correlated and therefore all students without exception should do exercises to develop motor coordination.
The use of gymnastics exercises, special action games contributed to correction of fault in posture and flat-footedness among children. In addition, children with the acquired skill of self-control and ability to maintain the correct posture while sitting and walking and at classes gained a sustained interest in physical education lessons.
