Generalization of the results of the examination of pedagogical research on the problems of physical education and sports

Objective of the study was to analysis and generalization of the results of the examination of dissertation research on the problems of physical education and sports, submitted to the expert council on pedagogy and psychology of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation.
Methods and structure of the study. The article presents an analysis of dissertations in scientific specialties 5.8.4. Physical education and professional physical training, 5.8.5. Theory and methodology of sports, 5.8.6. Health and adaptive physical education, which were examined by the expert council on pedagogy and psychology for 2023 and 2024.
Results and conclusions. The conducted analysis shows the intensive development of research problem fields within each passport of scientific specialties, which became independent only three years ago. The decrease in the number of studies for 2023 is associated, according to the authors, with the process of re-registration and opening of dissertation councils, according to the new passports of specialties, as well as increased quality requirements and the introduction of clear criteria for the evidence of scientific research in the field of educational sciences.
