Pedagogical potential of game sports in the formation of patriotic attitudes of students

Objective of the study was to to consider the potential of team sports in developing patriotic attitudes among university students.
Methods and structure of the study.  In order to determine the level of patriotic attitudes, a survey of students of the Ural Federal University was conducted by distributing a questionnaire completed in the Yandex form through social networks in September-December 2024, as well as a content analysis of the pages of UrFU gaming sports clubs on social networks.
Results and conclusions. Based on the materials of an online survey of students, the potential of team sports in forming patriotic attitudes, in developing qualities that foster character, collectivism, civic consciousness and a sense of national pride for the team, region, country is highlighted. Various opportunities for students to participate in team sports as a participant or fan are considered.
