Increasing the level of physical fitness of students by means of fitness programs

Objective of the study was to based on the need-motivational orientations of students in types of physical activity, to justify the use of a fitness program implemented during training sessions as part of an elective course in physical culture and sports at the university.
Methods and structure of the study. During the study, a survey was conducted among second-year female students at Yelets State University named after I.A. Bunin in order to clarify need-motivational orientations in types of physical activity (n=160). Based on the survey results, a fitness program was developed, including exercises on a balancing hemisphere (BOSU), moving platforms (CORE), soft foam rollers, aerosteps, fitballs, step platforms, exercises with dumbbells, etc., of varying directions and complexity. The fitness program was implemented during training sessions as part of an elective course in physical education and sports. 52 senior female students took part in the study.
Results and conclusions. It has been established that the implementation of fitness tools in the educational process of physical education based on the interest of female students in the types and forms of physical activity made it possible to increase the level of physical fitness of students, introduce novelty into the content of the curriculum and expand the variability of classes, which served to increase the level of students interest in academic studies.
