Objective of the study was to determination of the level of postural balance when holding the breath before and after a standard load of judokas of various sports qualifications.
Methods and structure of the study. Collection and analysis of scientific and methodological literature, stabilometry using a strain gauge platform using the example of the «Apnea» test. The study involved 63 judokas of various sports qualifications, of which 15 had the title of Master of Sports of the Russian Federation, 18 candidates for Master of Sports and 30 athletes with I and II categories.
Results and conclusions. The postural balance when holding the breath of master judokas is significantly better than that of wrestlers of lower sports qualifications. The reliability of differences was revealed in 21 indicators of the «Apnea» test out of 30 examined among masters of sports and first-class wrestlers. In first-class athletes, postural balance is maintained mainly due to sensory systems (visual and vestibular), but for the athlete’s motor systems, the most significant is the proprioceptive system, which transmits information about the stable state of the system and the preservation of information about the biomechanical parameters of the body. An uneven development of stability of the body position of judo athletes of various sports qualifications was revealed when performing the «Apnea» test.

Keywords: qualified athletes, judo wrestlers, postural balance while holding the breath, «Apnea» test.
