Introduction. Sports competitions are a potentially dangerous place to carry out terrorist acts. Therefore, an important point in ensuring the safety of sports competitions is the anti-terrorist work of the organizers of the competitions [1].
The purpose of the study is to identify the level of awareness of terrorist threats at sports competitions.
Methodology and organization of the study. 650 people took part in the scientific work, including 550 athletes participating in competitions of different levels, 50 coaches and 50 organizers of sports competitions. Of these, 60% are women and 40% are men.
The results of the study and their discussion. All 100% of the study participants heard about terrorist acts during sports competitions. They themselves were participants in competitions where terrorist acts or prevented terrorist acts took place – 32%, i.e. a third of the people involved in the sports community became a direct witness of these destructive events (!). This is a rather disturbing fact, which indicates the severity of the prevalence of this problem.
It is completely impossible to avoid the risks of terrorist threats, according to 29% of respondents. 16% believe that sports events can be completely secured. It is possible to significantly reduce the risks of social security as a result of the prevention and prevention of terrorist acts, according to 55% of respondents.
Terrorist acts occur during sporting events due to a lack of awareness among spectators, athletes and other participants in these events (42%). And also because of poorly organized prosocial activity (the work of volunteers and volunteers), including in the field of social security (31%). The third reason was the general permissive environment in the cities (27%).
The effectiveness of the fight against terrorist acts is determined by the personal responsibility of all participants in sports events (38%), complicity and indifference in the organization and conduct of sports events (22%), social cohesion of all participants (20%) and social identity (as a patriot and citizen) – 20%. In other words, the effectiveness of the struggle is based on the development of moral, ethical and ideological principles of individuals and entire communities, which strengthen the patriotic component and determine the prospects for social modeling of sports events.
Conclusions. It has been established that terrorist risks are present at sports events of any level. Educational and pro-social activities can become a tool for preventing terrorist threats at sports competitions. And personal responsibility, built on patriotism, social cohesion and social identity, will be able to form a stable system to counter terrorist threats.
