Objective of the study was to study the psychological characteristics and psycho-emotional state of people practicing motor meditation.
Methods and structure of the study. Two groups of respondents took part in the study: group 1 (28 people) regularly practices movement meditation, group 2 (30 people) does not engage in such practices.
Results and conclusions. It was revealed that the group of practitioners is characterized by lower rates of emotional saturation in life, as well as reduced scores on the «locus of control – Self» scale, which may be due to the characteristics of meditative practices and their focus on «escape» from one’s own Self. Respondents practicing meditation, can be characterized as realists, while respondents who do not have meditative experience are more likely to be «active pessimists». In addition, respondents who have experience in meditation are characterized by lower levels of stress and higher life satisfaction. The results obtained confirm the positive impact of meditative practices on the psychological state of respondents, which requires finding ways to implement them in everyday life.

Keywords: stress, psychological characteristics, psycho-emotional state, motor meditation.
