Introduction. Long-term maintenance of high physical activity is able to tone all internal organs [1]. Regular aerobic exercise can enhance all types of metabolism by optimizing the vascular bed and increasing blood flow to all tissues of the body [2]. In this regard, it is relevant to clarify the health-improving possibilities of regular jogging in arterial hypertension.
The aim of the study is to clarify the health–improving possibilities of regular jogging in arterial hypertension.
Methodology and organization of the study. There were 15 men of the second mature age who had a confirmed diagnosis of arterial hypertension of grade 1, stage 1, risk 1 for 1-2 years. All the patients refused medical treatment for personal reasons. All of them started daily jogging at a free pace for 25-30 minutes in the afternoon. The study also included 12 clinically healthy men of the second mature age who had never had episodes of high blood pressure, did not have bad habits and daily jogging at a free pace for half an hour. The condition monitoring and dynamic monitoring of both groups was carried out for four months. A number of functional tests were performed, based on the results of which the Student's t-test was calculated.
The results of the study and their discussion. Initially, in men with arterial hypertension, the blood pressure level corresponded to the 1st degree of the disease. The level of endurance, speed, and strength parameters in all hypertensive patients turned out to be low. As a result of regular jogging, their blood pressure level steadily returned to normal (systolic was 118.5±1.22 mmHg, diastolic reached 81.7±0.93 mmHg). All the trainees noted an improvement in their well-being and the appearance of a persistent sense of cheerfulness. At the end of the follow-up, men with arterial hypertension showed a statistically significant increase in strength and speed capabilities and an increase in their endurance with the release of these parameters to the control level. All novice runners expressed a desire to continue training and expand their volume.
Conclusions. Daily jogging at a free pace contributed to the normalization of blood pressure levels in men with hypertension of the second mature age and a significant strengthening of their physical status. As a result of daily four-month running sessions, the physical parameters of men who had arterial hypertension under observation began to correspond to those of their healthy peers who had been running for a long time. The results obtained allow us to recommend daily jogging to people with developing arterial hypertension for the purpose of general health improvement.
