Time for change and the next tasks for restructuring the curricula of physical education and sports universities in Russia

Objective of the study was to substantiate the author’s project for the innovative restructuring of educational and scientific programs of domestic physical education and sports universities in connection with fundamental changes in the foreign and domestic policies of modern Russia.
Methods and structure of the study. The scientific work was carried out in the period 2020-2023 and includes theoretical calculations obtained by traditional document analysis and empirical materials summarizing the conclusions of scientific and practical conferences and expert analysis.
Results and conclusions. During the country's transition from a peaceful to a military policy, an objective pattern becomes the transition from a sports to a military-applied orientation of physical culture. This requires a special project that combines a systematic synthesis of elements and techniques not of sports, but of military-applied content of physical culture, as well as a special mechanism for the organizational and educational implementation of the created innovative system on a federal scale.
